Working in uncertain times in a world that keeps changing, the staff at Anderson Design Center Carpet One Floor & Home in Mississippi haven’t forgotten their friends and neighbors. While the Hattiesburg showroom remains open to meet essential needs of the local construction industry, they soon realized there were many more ways to show their support amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
After allowing employees to work a staggered schedule and work at home as needed, as well as purchasing meals for area healthcare workers through a local restaurant, Anderson Design Center’s management team wanted to do even more to honor everyday heroes.
“It’s so important to showcase the real heroes during this time, allowing them to shine,” store spokeswoman Jennifer Davion said. Appealing to customers, friends, and followers on the World Wide Web, the store recently announced its Honoring Healthcare Workers program. The premise is simple, yet impactful. Instagram and Facebook followers can log on and nominate their favorite healthcare professional. Each individual who is nominated will be entered into a raffle, with $500 store gift cards as prizes each week.
However, as Davion noted, everyone’s a winner here. “Our community is at the heart of all we do, and we value the people that live, work, and shop in our area,” she added. “It just made sense to take this opportunity to let them know how much we appreciate the healthcare workers that are giving so selflessly at this time.”
Allen Anderson, founder of Anderson Design Center Carpet One, takes to social media each week to announce the winner and read the kind words submitted by their community.
